Brownbook

I always had been fascinated by the Middle East, by its architecture, gastronomy and cultural diversity. The Brownbook magazine, founded in 2006 in Dubai, is my guide for this area of the globe for a long time. Aiming to demystify the common places about the region, Brownbook seeks “people, places and narratives for Tehran to Casablanca”, showing the “real style of life and tell stories that otherwise remain unheard”. Published six times a year and presenting design, architecture, travel and urban tendencies of the arab world, the magazine is without doubt one of the best publications in the market. In number 37, the relations between the Middle East and China, the modern Silk Route, are the main subject.

Sempre fui fascinado pelo Médio Oriente, pela sua arquitectura, gastronomia e diversidade cultural. A revista Brownbook, fundada em 2006 no Dubai, tem sido o meu guia para esta zona do globo. Desejando desmitificar os lugares comuns sobre a região, a Brownbook procura “pessoas, lugares e narrativas de Teerão a Casablanca”, mostrando o “verdadeiro estilo de vida e contando histórias que de outra forma ninguém ouviria falar”. Publicada seis vezes por ano e apresentando design, arquitectura, viagens e tendências urbanas do mundo árabe, a revista é sem dúvida uma das melhores publicações disponíveis no mercado. No número 37, as relações entre o Médio Oriente e China, a Rota da Seda moderna, são o principal assunto.
